Can this be done during normal hours?
For HVAC Systems: All work is done at your convenience with minimal interference to
your normal routine. In order to meet customer needs a time is mutually agreed on
when scheduling the work. In this sense a window of opportunity is established where
our technicians can perform their duties with minimal disturbance to your day to day
operations. There is no extra cost for work performed “after hours”; however an eight
hour window is requested.
For Kitchen Exhaust Systems: This work shall be performed after hours, after
equipment has cooled and system has been shut down.
Do we have to shut the system down to clean?
All equipment must be turned OFF and locked out/ tagged out before the start of the
work to ensure safety, allow for the proper cleaning of the system and prevent
debris/dust from blowing out elsewhere during service.
Will there be stuff blowing out?
To prevent debris from blowing out, the HVAC system is to remain OFF for the duration
of the work day and/or until system cleaning is completed. All supply systems are
cleaned from the source out, while return systems are cleaned from the farthest point in
to ensure that there is no contamination of cleaned surfaces.
Minor blow out might occur after the system is ON and operational. This might be the
result of assortment of reasons including a sudden change in CFMs as the HVAC
system brought back to its designed airflow.
How do we keep areas clean?
For HVAC Systems: All areas near diffusers, and/or access points (Including but not
limited to: desk, computer) are covered with drop cloths and plastic to protect them
during cleaning. All areas remain covered until work is completed in the area, after
which a final walk thru is performed to ensure that all areas are clean.
After the cleaning the ducts are noisy, was something broken in the process?
Noise might be do directly to a change in CFMs as the systems airflow ratio increases
after cleaning and any obstruction are removed from the system. Some systems might
require balancing to be performed after they have been cleaned.
We had the air handling unit cleaned and now we have dirt blowing out. Why?
As HVAC systems and re-heat coils are cleaned CFMs increase and more air is moved
through the entire system therefore dirt and other debris is more prone to blown out of
the system. For this a full system cleaning is recommended.
