Carbon-containing dirt and moisture found frequently in building ductwork and airconditioning drip pans breed mold and bacteria which flourish in the closed environment. These contaminants are then recycled throughout the building's air handling system, where their presence has been associated with such serious ailments as Legionnaires' disease and debilitating allergies.

Clearly, the first step -- and least expensive -toward reducing airborne contaminants and maintaining proper air balance is to clean the building's air handling systems. In fact, many building air quality problems can be solved simply by regular, thorough cleaning of the ductwork, with no need to invest in more costly, unnecessary alternatives.

THE KLEEN-AIR METHOD

We begin with an on-site evaluation of your building air conveyance systems. If the evaluation indicates your air quality problems can be helped by our services, a team of specially trained Kleen-Air professionals is assigned to clean the entire interior of the building's air handling systems.

The Kleen-Air team works at your convenience with minimal interference to a normal routine. All costs of labor, supervision, equipment, workmen's compensation, pollution and public liability insurance are covered in our bid. For documentation purposes, Kleen-Air personnel take photographs of the system during the cleaning, and any problems found by our workmen are reported to your personnel.

THOROUGH, TOP-TO-BOTTOM CLEANING

To bring your building's air-handling systems up to capacity and ensure the recycled air is clean, KleenAir utilizes the source removal method of cleaning the most complete and thorough method available today. Surfaces cleaned include:

Air Handling Units

Air intakes, dampers, louvers and plenums are bushed, scraped and vacuumed to remove dust, dirt, soot, grease and other foreign material, and air filters are changed.

Heating and cooling coils are brushed, and where possible, washed with a chemical solution.

Fans and housings are scraped and vacuumed, and where possible, washed with a chemical solution.

Ductwork

All supply ductwork is cleaned by skilled workmen, who crawl through the ductwork, brushing, scraping and vacuuming all surfaces.

For ductwork too small to crawl through, holes are cut for access. Skilled workmen then reach in with special tools to clean the ducts.

Ducts that have been cut are resealed with new sheet-metal plates, and attached with sheet-metal screws.

Grills and Vents

All grills, diffusers, registers and vents are marked, taken down and cleaned by brushing, vacuuming and washing.

After cleaning, grills are replaced in their original marked settings to maintain proper airflow.

Optional Sanitizing and Disinfecting of Ductwork

An environmentally sound sanitizing agent can be applied through spraying or flushing to coat the cleaned surfaces.
